Our Way strategy
The Our Way strategy was developed to eliminate the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families in the child protection system and improve life outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

Queensland First Children Families board
The Queensland First Children and Families Board was established to guide and oversee the Our Way strategy. The Board is a key action within the Changing Tracks action plan and is another fundamental step the Queensland Government has taken towards achieving the Our Way vision and eliminating the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the child protection system.

Breaking Cycles
Breaking Cycles builds on the successes, learnings and foundations set under Changing Tracks: An action plan for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families 2017 - 2022, the first Our Way implementation phase, and focusses on changing the way services are co-designed, co-developed, and delivered for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families by government and non-government organisations.

Changing Tracks
Changing Tracks sets the foundations for change across the child protection system to eliminate the disproportionate representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in the child protection system in Queensland and improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families.

Delegated authority
Delegated authority transforms how child protection responses (services) are delivered to develop culturally safe and responsive ways of protecting children.

Healing strategy
The Healing Strategy aims to address the intergenerational impacts of trauma experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as a result of violence, abuse, grief and loss, dislocation from country, family, and community and loss of culture.

Family Wellbeing Services
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Wellbeing Services are open across the state to make it easier for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to access culturally responsive support to improve their social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing, and build their capacity to safely care for and protect their children.

Family Participation Program
The Family Participation Program is a state-wide program that provides services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in a culturally safe space to have an amplified voice to address child safety concerns. A key process used is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Led Decision Making.

Wellbeing outcomes framework
The framework defines wellbeing and identifies the outcomes needed to achieve wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
