NDIS access support
The Queensland Government is continuing to play a key role in connecting eligible Queenslanders with disability to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) through the work of the Assessment and Referral Team (ART).
ART provides intensive supports to Queenslanders aged 7-64 living in remote and very remote locations to access the NDIS.
ART also supports people to access the NDIS who meet at least one of the following criteria, regardless of where they live in Queensland:
- children and young people connected to the child protection system or Youth Justice Stronger Communities Initiative, or those who meet the criteria of the serious repeat offender index
- people who are culturally and linguistically diverse and are engaged with resettlement and refugee programs
- adults living in community and connected to offender support programs
- adults living in level 3 supported accommodation.
ART provides free, one-on-one application assistance to eligible Queenslanders and can help you:
- understand the application process
- talk to your doctors and specialists
- arrange specialised assessments if required
- submit your NDIS access application
- track your application progress.
ART also facilitate capacity building activities with Queensland Government and sector representatives to strengthen knowledge and understanding of NDIS access related processes.
