Glossary and Acronyms

Online Data Collection (ODC) Portal

A service provider has an obligation to notify the department about any restrictive practice approvals by using the ODC portal.

A service provider must notify the department about any short term approvals given within 14 days, and any other restrictive practice approval within 21 days. Failure to notify the department within the required timeframe is an offence and penalties/compliance and/or breach notices may apply under relevant legislations.

Model Statements and a Guide for Families

A service provider has a requirement to give a statement to the adult and an interested person (a person with a sufficient and continuing interest in the adult) if considering using restrictive practices in relation to an adult.

Information about what must be included in the statement and how the statement should be explained to the adult is provided below.
